Our Process

For nearly 13 years Little Tienda has worked with artisan communities to create Little Tienda pieces. We proudly create small batch production in limited editions. Each month a curated collection of styles, fabric, colour and size is available online, these pieces are trans-seasonal and we like each offering to add to your wardrobe. We also offer a selection of core pieces that are available all year round.

All our items, with the exclusion of our Ruth Knit, are created in Jaipur India with our friends and production partners that we have worked with now for over 6 years. They are a small family run business, that we are deeply committed to working with and feel privileged to partner with. Our production partners create a work environment that is safe, well paid and accepting of religion, holidays and weekends. We hire a female Production Manager in Jaipur that overseas all our pieces to be our on the ground team member. Sonia ensures our standards in ethics, quality and our responsibility are met.

We use only organic fabrics that are grown, loomed or woven in India - minimising our footprint as best as possible when crafting new items. As we design our own prints, we use a combination of traditional block printing, screen printing, hand dying and digital printing to make our textiles one of a kind. Creating wearable art is what we are all about! By using 100% recycled and organic materials, natural dyes and dead-stock fabrics we hope to limit your fashion footprint without limiting your style.

Creating slowly, with intention and respecting the process is deeply connected to how we design. We have a production limit of just 3000 items per year, as our ethos is 'Better not Bigger', so we invest in growth within sustainability not producing more. We are committed to creating pieces that are crafted with care, unique and joyful to wear on your body or use within the home. We are not trend driven yet prefer to explore the creative ways to produce with a minimal footprint.

Every day, I find myself grappling with a paradox—the ethics of owning a fashion brand that creates new clothing. It's a dilemma that weighs heavily on my conscience, given the undeniable reality of climate change. Rising CO2 emissions, the rapid loss of biodiversity, and the increasing scarcity of water are all symptoms of a global crisis we can no longer ignore. As a business owner, I feel a deep responsibility to use my platform not just to sell, but to educate—to help customers make informed, conscious choices and to assure them that when they purchase from us, they can trust in both our products and our decisions.

I don’t claim to be perfect or to have all the answers. I recognise the inherent contradiction between fashion and sustainability—after all, the industry thrives on constant newness and the cycle of consumption. But that doesn’t mean it can’t change. At Little Tienda, I promise to make thoughtful decisions that reduce our carbon footprint without compromising our core values.

Climate change is the most pressing threat we face, and while governments around the world are under pressure to act, we believe that industries must step up and lead. We’re committed to doing our part, and we’ll continue to learn, evolve, and make better choices every day.

Thanks for following our journey.
